With default:
INSTALL=install DESTDIR=/tmp/lm-test INIT_D=none ACPI=force APM=force
PMU=disabled ./install.sh
install: cannot create regular file `/tmp/lm-test/etc/pm/sleep.d': No
such file or directory
./install.sh: Failed to install 99-laptop-mode into /etc/pm/sleep.d.
Installation failed.

Need to create the directory and such...
