Yes, that feature is on the wish list and it will be implemented in the
next release. At first we thought there was no downside to the power
saving mode, so it was natural to enable the power saving mode always.
Now that we know there's audible clicks, we'll implement the switch!

Nope -- unfortunately this requires actual code changes.
