Hello,
I started with linux about a month ago - I came from M$ windows.
I installed ubuntu laptopmodetools - version 1,47 and made some config
changes and disk spindowns worked well.
Then I bought a new hard drive seagate 320 gb 7200 rpm. I can provied
you more info if you want to, but now I must find some hardware info
tool for linux.
I'm using ubuntu 9.04, which is modified to suite needs of blind persons
- I'm blind.
I'm quite new to the linux, but I'm not total newbie.
Is this a hardware issue?
When I run hdparm -y /dev/sda1 it spins down but only for a few seconds
and then it starts again.
lm-profiler doesn't reveal any rapid disk activity - the same activity
as with old drive which worked well.
What to do?
Vojta
