I'm sorry, I forgot to mention, that I downloaded your latest
laptop-mode tools I think 1.53 from archive of this mailing list. Is
there any difference between
/etc/init.d/laptopmode status and the command that you gave me?
I'll send it in the next mail.
I didn't do a fresh setup - I just copied all the data from one drive to
an other and changed uuids of disks. Linux is working and I have less
work to done.
I think that this isn't a problem, but I'm not sure.
Thank ou for now, look forward to status output,
Vojta

I'm quite new to the linux, but I'm not total newbie.
Is this a hardware issue?

OK, let's check some things. Did you reinstall Ubuntu 9.04 when you
upgraded the drive, or did you somehow transfer the installation to the
new drive? And if you did a reinstall, are you sure you applied the
exact same settings as before?

In a state where the machine is supposed to be in laptop mode (e.g. on
battery), could you run the following command:

/usr/sbin/laptop_mode status

and send us the output?

Another thing you could try is using the non-lobotomized latest version
of laptop-mode-tools, which you can download from here:

http://samwel.tk/laptop_mode/packages/debian

Ubuntu is great, but they have adapted laptop-mode-tools in ways that
are not always very helpful, and I'm not sure what the particular
quirks of your Ubuntu version are. :-)

Cheers,
Bart
